Num bokutô que Miyamoto Musashi usava por vezes como uma bengala, está escrito o seguinte poema:
Kanryû tsuki wo obite sumerukoto kagamino gotoshi.
Que quer dizer mais ou menos o seguinte:
"Tal como um espelho, a corrente invernosa do rio reflete a lua, contudo, ela é transparente."
